Dean was my best friend in the 5th grade at J. Ellsworth Hall Elementary School in Macon until his passing. Dean went to Lanier Junior High and Lanier Senior High. He was in the Lanier band (Band Company) through high school. He then went into the US Navy and later graduated from Georgia College at Milledgeville. Dean had serious arthitis problems after leaving the Navy and ddied an early death due to complications from his long illness. His father was director of the Macon Boys Club and Dean followed in his father's vocation and worked with young people in the YMCA and the Macon Recreation Department until he was no longer able to work. He lived in the Dempsey Hotel Apartments during his latter years. Dean was a good, funny guy. He has been and will be missed.
